This will be my first entry into the "Virtual Sketch Date" blog. Each month they post a photo, and ask artists to sketch, draw or paint the image.
On Sunday, January 25th, you will be able to go to this website and check out all the different views. On that blog, there will be links to go to each artist's blog or website. I love to do this stuff, since it is always a challenge to paint something that I wouldn't have thought of! And, it gives a way to check out what others are doing!

Nice work, this one intimidates me, I think I'll wait for something easier. You've done an excellent job on it though.
Thanks, Elaine! But, this intimidated me also -- I don't think I got it as well as I could, but I'm glad that I tried!
Hard to believe you have not been painting for long your work is really progressing. I love the little Clementine’s but ate all mine before I could paint one.
Thanks, Eugenia! It's hard for me to see my growth -- especially with this one!
You've got a very nice clean feel to this. Often its good to try something that intimidates us, its how we grow as artists.
Very simple and clean.. Very well done..
The clementine turned out lovely. It is so interesting to see all the different renditions of the same reference. We all see the same thing but interpret it oh so differently. I LOVE IT! It is what makes the world go round.
I liked your interpretation and colors in this work.
Congratulations!
I like your watercolor - it was a difficult subject and you captured it well!
One of the best things about Virtual Sketch Date, besides having a challenge tossed your way, is seeing all the different takes people have on the same subject. I'm glad you jumped in for this one, because your watercolor is simply charming.
And wasn't it fun trying to get those colors? Great job!
A nice piece of water colour painting, it is charming. It is fascinating seeing everyones different approach.
Thank all of you for your kind words! It's always so scary to put my stuff out there for all to see!
Very nicely done and I love the blue background.
I like especially your light and clean approach. Nice work!
Very nice and loose! The contour shapes of the peel are spot on and the color is clean and fresh throughout -- I agree, this was a challenge, but you certainly stepped up to the plate!!
I like the colors and the looseness in this. I was kind of intimidated by this at first also, but it wasn't so bad once I jumped in. That's the nice thing about these VSDs. The subject is often one you wouldn't choose and you get to see everyone's different interpretations.
I love the colour combinations you've used, the looseness and the overall feel of this. Nice sketch.

Wonderful color. Nice light. Well done!
Hi Nancy, this was my first VSD also. I think you did a great job. I'll be participating again next month, I hope you will be too! :)
Lovely watercolour :D I really like the background effect.
I love the freshness of this little painting - certainly your piece shows the beauty in the simplest of subjects.
